For too long the old political parties have let ultra-rich corporations rip us off.
We’re not talking about the fish and chip shop down the street, or your uncle’s landscaping business.
We’re talking about the wealthiest businesses in the country: The big four banks, the coal and gas giants, and the gambling industry.
Together, they raked in more than 50 billion dollars in pure profit in the last year.
Meanwhile, rents, mortgages, and bills are going up, and food banks are turning people away because demand is so high.
We can’t let this continue.
If we raise taxes on the big banks, the coal and gas giants, and the gambling industry, we could raise an extra $5 billion dollars a year to fund the services the rest of us need.
We’d put that money back into the community to fund
- Permanently frequent and free public transport.
- Fund more public and affordable housing.
- And lower energy bills, powered by renewable energy.
